Down And Oot

Ross Perkins was born and raised in Southport and began a career managing bars and nightclubs in the town centre. He went on to open several nightspots, including the underground and Kahiki bar.

Managing bars at some of the UK’s biggest events and festivals, several years ago he opened an event staffing agency, Burn Everything Event Staffing, which supplies bar staff to a variety of events across the country.

Working in events and seeing some amazing food outlets ignited a passion of good food which has led him to create ‘Down & Oot’ Canadian food outlet for the brand new Southport Market.

The menu consists of a selection of Canadian breakfasts, hot sandwiches, premium steaks and Poutine, the Canadian national dish which is chips, cheese and gravy with a selection of toppings.

Breakfast

  • Triple Stacked Canadian style pancakes with fresh fruit/ bacon and maple syrup/ apple and cinnamon
  • French Toast – Brioche bread fried in vanilla butter topped with fresh fruit/ bacon and maple syrup/ banana and walnut
  • Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce on a toasted bagel with bacon/ avocado and spinach/ smoked salmon and spinach

Hot Sandwiches

  • Steak Canadienne – Fried minute steak on a brioche bun with caramelised onions, Monteray Jack cheese and fries
  • No Steak Canadienne – Meat free steak on a brioche bun with caramelised onions, vegan cheese and fries
  • Chicken Parmigiana Bagel – Juicy chicken breast smothered in a rich tomato sauce with melted cheese on a toasted bagel and fries
  • Nova Scotia Lobster Roll – Lobster and crayfish meat tossed in lemon, garlic & black pepper, baby gem, mayo in a brioche roll and fries
