A creative workshop for complete beginners or those who tried this arts activity in the past and want to revisit. Join this class to learn a new creative skill & join others in a casual social environment. You will carve out a small linocut design and print onto 5 greetings cards and handmade papers to take away.

The class opens with a brief introduction to the linocut & print with a demonstration. Catherine our tutor shows you best approaches for carving with linocut tools. Begin with a practice exercise to familiarise yourself with cutting into lino.

Following this, you will come up with a design for your print.

Here you can work with design templates, a tried and tested lino image allowing you to focus on technique. If you prefer to sketch out your own idea, we’ll be on hand to chat about the best way to approach your design, making sure you will complete your artwork in the time we have.

Once the cut process is complete, students see demonstrations how best to approach printing. Choose form over 20 colours to work with, feel uplifted as your design comes to life.

This is a fun class with great results.

Suitable for all abilities & age 16 upwards due to sharp tools used.
